Ohio Golf Journal contributors, Len Ziehm, Ed Travis and Fred Altvater received writing awards from the International Network of Golf (ING). The annual award ceremony normally takes place during the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, but this year was forced to be held virtually.
Ziehm’s piece about the Western Golf Association’s efforts to improve opportunities for young caddies, seeking Evans Scholarships, amidst the pandemic was recognized in the Business Writing category.
Ed Travis received awards in two categories. His piece, “What’s Up with Bryson’s Driver,” was cited in the Equipment/Apparel category. He was also recognized in the Opinion/Editorial category for, “Why Rolling Back the Ball is NOT the Answer.”
Altvater’s piece entitled, “Is it Time for a World Golf Tour,” was cited in the Opinion/Editorial category.

Other prominent golf writers receiving awards included, Bill Fields, Adam Shupak, Gary D’Amato, Gary Van Sickle, Jeff Neumann, Holly Geoghegan, Dave Lockhart, Tony Dear, Ann Liquori and John Steinbreder.
