Who ever thought you would go to a bowling center to enjoy playing indoor golf?
Modern Technology, along with the two About Golf simulators at Forest View Recreation Bar and Grill, allows Golfaholics to do just that.
Golfers can play 60 famous golf courses, plus save thousands of dollars in travel and greens fees. When winter hits or the sun goes down at their local golf club; golfers can still visit the simulators at Forest View and play that “emergency nine.” When the weather gets unsavory in southern Michigan, the golf simulators are open every day at Forest View Lanes until midnight or later, plus early mornings as well.
The owner, Rich Kenny grew up in Bedford, and spent his teenage years fixing the bowling machines and handing out bowling shoes at Forest View. He joked back then, that one day he would own the business, his prophecy came true.
After Rich took ownership of the business in 2014, he began an expansion and modernization program that has added activities, plus a brand new, state of the art kitchen, which has made Forest View one of the most talked about, as well as, enjoyable sports and recreation facilities in the Greater Toledo area.
Forest View is one of the area’s leading businesses and was recognized as the “2016 Small Business of Year,” by the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce.
Kenny said,
“I am extremely thankful to receive the Monroe Country Chamber of Commerce, Small Business of the Year award. We have tried to create an entertainment complex that provides fun for the entire family, as well as, be a valued member of the Monroe County business community.”
Before he became the proprietor of Forest View, Kenny traveled around the country recruiting top talent for the banking, airline, medical & other industries. He received a Business Administration degree from the University of Toledo in 1997 and landed his first job with Comerica Bank in Detroit. Rich spent 18 years helping Delta, 7-Eleven, Henry Ford Health System and Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting with sourcing and recruiting strategies for top talent around the world.
He has used that corporate training to transition Forest View Lanes into more than just a place to drink a couple of beers and knock over a few pins. He has created a sports, recreation, entertainment, food and beverage facility that has something for every member of the family.

Volleyball
When he worked at the bowling alley as a teenager, Rich loved to be involved with the volleyball leagues. He has continued to add additional volleyball courts and now 13 sand-filled courts in operation, with more than 300 teams enjoying outdoor fun, recreation and competition under the lights. You can rent the outdoor paradise for company outings, class reunions and graduations or any other activity in the summer.

Golf
The About Golf simulators were installed in 2016 and offer a top-of-the-line golf experience. About Golf is a local company, housed in Maumee, and known worldwide for their quality. After checking out various simulator brands Kenny found About Golf to be the best for him.
“Bowling and Golf go hand in hand. Many golfers also bowl in the winter months.” He told us, “Given the short outdoor golf season in southern Michigan, offering the golf simulators allows golfers to expand their season and still visit our location.”
Golfers can dial up one of 60 famous golf courses on the simulators, while ordering from the fresh food menu or enjoying one of the 48 craft beers on tap. Forest View also maintains a complete wine selection, can make your favorite cocktail, or one of their signature drinks.
The golf simulators are the perfect place for the serious golfer to practice in the winter, or bring the family in on the weekend to enjoy a fun family outing. The simulators also have 3 miniature golf courses and skee ball for the kids, which are a hit for birthday parties.

Restaurant
Forest View has designed and built a brand-new kitchen, added several delicious entrees to the menu and prepares a fresh-made food menu made from scratch every day. The new kitchen is equipped with the latest grills, warmers and ovens to prepare food that will satisfy even the most discerning palate.
Chef David Harrison constantly changes the menu options and uses only the freshest ingredients to create his signature dishes.
If you haven’t tried Forest View’s new food offerings lately, you are in for a culinary treat.

Craft Beers
