Men

After a 14th place finish at the All-American Intercollegiate in Houston to open the 2018 Spring schedule, Cincinnati Junior Austin Squires tied for eighth place to help the team collect a fourth-place finish at the Seminole Intercollegiate.

Three other Bearcats Nicholas Osterburg, Jake Fox and Davis Baxter finished inside the Top 30 helping the team to record their lowest final-round team score.

Cincinnati Head Coach Doug Martin retired from professional golf in 1999 with two PGA Tour victories in eight years on the PGA Tour. Martin has been with the Bearcats Golf Program for 11 years and the team’s 20 top-5 finishes over the past four years shows the program is improving.

In 2016-17, the Bearcats won the Firestone Invitational and tied for second place at the American Championship, the best finish at a conference tournament, since claiming consecutive Great Midwest Conference titles in both 1993 and 1994. The Bearcats completed last year with their highest national ranking in program history at No. 92.

The Bearcats will be looking to improve and win the American League Championship in April.

Cincinnati Women

The Bearcat Women’s Golf Team collected their best finish, 6th out of 17 teams, last fall at the Pirate Collegiate Classic in Greenville, North Carolina.

This year they have already competed in the Florida International Match Play and the Amelia Island Collegiate.

Women’s Head Coach Janet Carl has brought continued improvement to the UC golf program during her 10-plus seasons as head coach. In the summer of 2009, Carl became Director of Golf in 2009, plus maintained her women’s coaching duties.

With four more tournaments remaining on the Spring Schedule, the ladies will be looking to improve on their 5th place finish in the 2016-17 American Conference Championship in April.
