Bowling Green State University

Men:

John Powers, who is a BGSU Alum, was named Head Men’s Golf Coach for the Falcons earlier this year. The job had been vacated by Kevin Farrell, who left to become the men’s golf coach at Mount St. Marys.

Powers is inheriting an experienced team with two seniors, four juniors, a lone sophomore and two freshmen.

Powers is excited to be hack at home. He attended Bowling High School and was a member of the BGSU golf team.

The Falcons open their spring schedule in March at the Border Olympics, hosted by the University of Houston at Laredo Country Club. In April they will compete in the Greenbrier Invitational, the Robert Kepler Invitational at Ohio State and the MAC Championship to be held at Sycamore Hills in Fort Wayne.

BGSU Women

Stephanie Young is in her 12th year as the Head Coach for the Falcons Women’s Golf Team. Her teams have performed well both, on and off the field.

They were recognized by the NCAA for scoring in the top-10 percent of all Division 1 golf teams in the Academic Progress Rate for eight of the last 11 years.

The BGSU Women also showed consistency on the course last year as they finished inside the top-10 nine times in the events in which they competed.
