This will be the third year the Senior LPGA Championship has been held on the Pete Dye Course at the French Lick Resort. Last year Dame Laura Davies completely dominated to earn a four-stroke win over Helen Alfredsson and Silvia Cavalleri.

This year the tournament will feature 78 of the top senior women golfers in the world, October 14-16. In addition to a very difficult golf course, the players must deal with the distracting views, as the course sits atop the second highest peak in Indiana and provides wonderful vistas as the players make their way around the course.

The winner will pocket $100,000 from a total purse of $650,000. All 54 holes will be televised live on Golf Channel from 3-6 p.m. EDT.

These are the women that laid the foundation for the current success of the LPGA Tour. In addition to Laura Davies, three-time Solheim Cup Captain and seven-time major champion, Juli Inkster will be in the field, as well as, the newest member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, Jan Stephenson.

As every year, tournament proceeds are donated to the Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. They have been recognized as one of the leaders in providing healthcare to children at no charge for parents, who may need financial assistance. Last year The Senior LPGA Championship raised over $200,000.00 for Riley Hospital.

Even if you can’t attend, but want to help support the Riley Children’s Hospital, the tournament is featuring an online auction with over 120 items that have been donated. Green Fees to Indiana’s Pete Dye Golf Trail, a golf trip to TPC Sawgrass, two-night’s stay and golf at both the Donald Ross and Pete Dye Course, plus a signed football by Andrew Luck are only a few of the items available.

Making the event even more appealing for children, the Indianapolis zoo will bring several animals to the Pete Dye Course for a petting zoo. Kids of all ages will enjoy getting up and personal with these exotic animals.

Admission is a mere $5.00/day with free parking and shuttle service from the hotels available throughout tournament week. VIP Passes are also available and can be reserved by contacting dharner@frenchlick.com.

The 2019 Senior LPGA Championship is sure to be a hit for golf fans. Make arrangements to visit French Lick October 14-16 and catch all the ation.
