The Marathon Classic will host its annual LPGA Tour event July 9-15 at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania. The lady professionals will be vying for a piece of $1.6 million total purse, with the winner banking $250,000.

More importantly the tournament has raised $10.3 million for 170 northwest Ohio children’s charities since its inception in 1984.

“We’re grateful to all of our sponsors for their continued support of the Marathon Classic,” stated tournament director Judd Silverman. “This year’s contribution of $523,000 takes us well over the $10 million mark in charitable donations over the past 33 years. This kind of sustained effort would not have been possible without the loyal support of the northwest Ohio business community!”

The local children’s charities that will receive contributions from the 2018 Marathon Classic include:

Awakening Minds

Baby University

Beach House

Bittersweet Farms

CASA Lucas County

Findlay Family YMCA

Historic South Initiative
